How are we through another month already in 2022? We feel like we blinked and poof! March has come and gone. While we had a lovely false spring, winter also made its roaring appearance again. We pray we are on the up and up with spring coming to stay soon. Carrying on with our monthly series, here are our favorites for March!

I tend to go through phases when it comes to my personal style. Some days I feel incredibly inspired to put together a super cute outfit with fun accessories, but other days I just want to be comfortable and go with my trusty pair of bootcut jeans, a cute crewneck, and throw on my Carhartt vest. My absolute favorite accessory to dress up any outfit is a pair of statement earrings. I have quite the collection and love to come up with new outfits to wear my earrings with! On those days when I just don’t know what to wear or how to put an outfit together, I have one set of earrings that I consistently gravitate towards. My Kendra Scott Elle Drop Earrings are my ride-or-die and never fail me. I have them in the color “Gold – Slate Cat’s Eye” and I love them because they seriously go with everything! And are the beautiful touch I need once in a while to dress up an outfit. Grab a pair of these gorgeous earrings for yourself by clicking on the link below!

Like a typical Minnesota March, we experience a “false spring.” Well, during that one glorious week this past month when temps were in the upper 50s-mid 60s (we even hit 70 one day!) Jacob and I pulled the grill out and threw some meat on a couple nights for supper. We love to grill, and in the summer, we grill at least three or four nights a week. It’s quick, easy, and so delicious! Pork chops are a favorite of ours and I have only ever used one seasoning my entire life when making pork chops. Now, I grew up in Martin County, Minnesota so this seasoning is like gold to me. Martin County Magic is my tried and true, and it is all you need to make the perfect chops! Try it at this link here – I promise you won’t be disappointed.
Another one of my March favorites is related to cooking, but hey, I just really love to cook. 🙂 When using baking dishes, I always reach for this Pyrex set I received as a bridal shower gift. I love that they are glass, but my absolute favorite thing about them are the snap-on lids! I use them as much as I can because I don’t have to dirty another container to put leftovers in the fridge or if I prepare a hotdish a day or two before I need it, instead of using tinfoil, I just snap the lid on and put the whole thing in the fridge. Such a simple favorite, but I know some of you will love this set just as much as I do! Check them out via the link below!

My last monthly favorite is something I read. (My book reading goal is really flopping for 2022… although I have another book review coming very soon for you all!) I have bonded over an appreciation and love for The Pioneer Woman (Ree Drummond) with my mother-in-law and sisters-in-law since the day I met Jacob. We even went on a girl’s trip together in the summer of 2018 to Pawhuska, Oklahoma to visit her mercantile, stay in her gorgeous hotel, and tour the Drummond Ranch! It was an amazing trip, and I can’t wait to go back someday. When Ree started her magazine, I subscribed right away. I have loved reading and paging through it as soon as it’s dropped on my doorstep. Her spring edition, “Bring on the Flowers!” makes me so excited to get my hands dirty planting my flowerpots and working in my perennial garden. Being that the month of March was a little shy of providing us with warm weather, I’ve been searching for ideas to keep my kids occupied and happy indoors. C’mon, warm weather!😂 Savannah has really started showing an interest in puzzles. This started when my parents would have a puzzle set out at their house that the family would take turns working on while they are visiting. Now, we’re not puzzle professionals by any means, but we have completed our fair share.☺️ Just recently I purchased a fantastic puzzle of the USA for Savannah and whoever to work on with her. As a teacher, I encourage this because there are so many benefits to doing puzzles: fine motor skill development, teamwork, hand & eye coordination, problem solving and so much more. Plus – it gets them away from the TV (which we rarely watch anyway.) Also, with Easter coming up I snagged two more puzzles to put into both Savannah and Bryce’s Easter baskets! I’ve listed all three below!
Next up is another “kid-friendly” favorite that I’d like to share because, hey, I’m a mom! Savannah was gifted this adorable coloring book by her auntie, El, for her birthday. She’s recently been working on coloring pages for her great-grandpa Howard and great-great-aunt Anna May – it’s a Bible Verse Coloring Book. Savannah often tells me that her favorite part of the school day is “Jesus Time” (which made this mama’s heart burst and eyes tear up) and I love that she is making connections from the stories that she learns about at school to the coloring book at home. Check it out for yourself! I’ve also included a few more links for other religious coloring books that are in my Amazon cart right now. 🙂
Lastly, I’m going to share with you my family’s favorite grilled cheese recipe. Grilled cheese happens quite often in our house for a few reasons. 1. We used to be dairy farmers and will still support them however we can! 2. It’s quick & easy with few ingredients. 3. Because.. Who doesn’t love cheese?!
When you eat it as often as we do, it’s in your best interest to have a few variations up your sleeve. 🙂 You’ll need: sourdough bread, butter, pepperoni slices, pesto sauce, american cheese, provolone, mozzarella cheese, and pizza sauce. (When I’m in a pinch, I just use a variety of whatever cheeses I have in the fridge – no complaints, yet!) I spread butter on both sides of each slice of bread, followed by spreading a thin layer of pesto sauce on the inside of the slices. Then, I layer cheese on the bottom, followed by pepperonis, and cheese on top. When the cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown, slice and enjoy dipped in pizza sauce. Delicious! Tag me on instagram @jess.flygare if you give it a try. Thanks for reading and reach out to Ellyn or myself if you have topics or questions that you’d like for us to write about.
Wishing nothing but sunshine and warmth for you all reading this. Thank you for being here. Happy April, friends!

I live for the Pyrex dishes with the lids! 🙌🏻 I’ll never settle for anything less 😁
